Laser Peels

Laser skin resurfacing is also known as a laser peel. It is the removal of the top layer of the skin via a focused laser energy. Laser also penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin providing additional benefits. The main objective of a laser peel is for the skin to become smoother, tighter with more tone, texture and colour.

A laser peel is usually performed by a Er:YAG laser but can also be performed by a Nd:YAG laser. The treatment is best suited to a lighter skin type and to someone who does not smoke. A laser peel can used on patients with
  • Skin imperfections
  • Fine Lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Loose Skin
  • Scars
  • Acne
  • Vascular lesions
  • Thread veins
  • Tattoos
  • Hair
  • Brithmarks
  • Age spots
  • Pigmentation
The treatment is performed generally as an out-patient with the patient and to avoid UV radiation in the healing period and to keep skin moist. There is very little downtime following a laser peel but some redness and swelling is to be expected in the first week.
